Context
After the Chinese invasion in 1950, thousands and thousands of
Tibetans have fled their country to become refugee on the other side of the Himalayans moutains.
Most of them were then working on construction sites and road building and never left India since.
They are now very old and without any family or any relatives.
Life is very hard in the Himalayan and it does
not spare anybody
Today most of them are very old and suffer from serious arthritis
what makes every movement difficult and painful particularly to stand up and to
walk.
They have little and bad nutrition. There is
a lack of regular medical and social help. Some of these people are even unable
to get out from their bed during the long weeks.
The Drolma association was created for this purpose: to
help these old Tibetan refugees.
